José Miguel Rodrigues

José Miguel Rodrigues was born in Oporto in 1970. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP) in 1994. He is a Master and Doctor in the same school (1998 and 2000). He is co-author of the Nova Aldeia da Luz project (1995-2002) and, since 1998, a professor at FAUP. In 2013 he published his doctoral thesis "The Ordered and Affordable World of Forms of Architecture" and, since 2011, he has developed a postdoctoral project entitled "The relation between theory and practice in Giorgio Grassi: affinities and oppositions", a Portuguese translation project of the author's written work. Translated, as part of the Giorgio Grassi editorial project, opera omnia, sic: "Leon Batista Alberti and the Roman Architecture" and "Written Writings 1965-2015". He was a member of the FIMS Board of Directors and Director of the Integrated Master's Degree in Architecture at FAUP (2009-2018). He is currently Director of the FAUP research center (CEAU-FAUP) and Associate Professor at the same school, lecturing: History of Modern Architecture (in Master's Degree) and Methods of Research in Architecture and Urbanism (PDA).
